Price does not include student manual. Student may purchase an e-book or printed manual prior to class or may purchase printed manual in class for $14. AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (basic life support) course is for both prehospital and in-facility health care environments that focuses on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. Initial BLS course - approx. 4 hour class - for those who have never taken it before or whose certification has expired. Students will be able to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high quality chest compressions and ventilations via BVM (Bag Valve Mask) and provide early use of the AED. Both single and team CPR will be taught. Course content includes: CPR for adults, children, and infants and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants. Open Book Written Evaluation: Required for all students Skills Evaluation: Students must perform required skills competently without assistance. Certification Period 2 years. This course is American Heart Association curriculum and updated to reflect the 2015 guidelines for CPR and ECC
